With the success of turbo inlet adaptors for a number of platforms and engine configurations we took the opportunity to further our product range for the VW MK8 GTI. We looked to see if we could improve on the air flow to the turbo charger. On investigation we could see that the OEM turbo adaptor was restrictive and was an area in need for improvement. Therefore, our highly skilled development team got to work designing a solution to maximize the capacity by utilizing our CAD system and physical prototypes.

 

The OEM plastic turbo inlet includes a ribbed hose that also disturbs the air flow within the inlet tract, this OEM part has a detrimental effect to the engines performance especially when tuned. For the best possible gains, we have included a smooth silicone inlet hose that is included in the kit and meets the forge turbo elbow seamlessly, this product not only enhances the look of your vehicles engine bay the TIA6 inlet elbow and hose increase the volume and air flow significantly, this ensures the transition is as smooth as possible from the inlet tract to the turbo.

Suitable for both left and right hand drive vehicles the turbo elbow is made from cast aluminium and machined to the perfect tolerance to enable a superb fit, this is a product that can be installed in approximately 30 minutes with only a few tools and can easily be accomplished by even the most novice enthusiast.

During independent testing on a stock vehicle we found the throttle response to be increased with a gain of 12NM torque between 2000RPM and 2400RPM  while holding noticeable smoother torque figure to just over 3300RPM along with a slight increase of BHP at 5300RPM, These figures can be expected to increase the more the vehicle is tuned and will typically produce a gain of around 7 BHP on stage 1 tuned vehicles this is because at the entry point to the inlet elbow the surface area in increased by 30%.

Combined with our product FMMD6 the turbo charger works more freely and should certainly be considered as one of the first two modifications to carry out on the new 2.0 petrol turbo (TSI) (EA888 GEN4 engine) with the engine code DNP and replaces the OEM part number 5WA.129.635

  • The Forge silicone hose in this kit has been designed to include an expensive inner liner of modified silicone known as Fluorosilicone.
  • This means the hose is suitable to be used with either modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants (O.A.T.) or air containing oil mist.

TTE700 EVO UPGRADE TURBOCHARGER FOR RS3 8V.2 & 8Y / TTRS 8S DAZA, DNWA, DNWC

A TTE700 Is an original RS3 8V.2/TTRS 8S turbocharger that we the THETURBOENGINEERS Rework to make amazing performance yet still plug & play fitting with an upgrade inlet. To make a TTE700 the compressor wheel is exchanged for a TTE milled aluminum wheel with state-of-the-art geometry, 7+7 blade, and of a much larger size, so producing extra power. Equally, we change the original exhaust turbine for a far larger but very lightweight 9 blade TTE designed the turbine for lower exhaust gas backpressure giving greater performance. We also fitted a TTE motorsport upgrade bearing system for durability. Boost response as always is focused on when we were designing this unit and it does not disappoint.

If ordering new, we use the latest generation of BorgWarner original turbochargers with the latest spec Audi thermal heat isolation shielding on the exhaust manifold & turbine housing to lower engine bay temperatures and ensure the best performance and safety.

Please note if you send an older generation turbo, without the original AUDI thermal shielding for the "upgrade" process, we will rework your turbo and return without the shielding, unless you buy the extra thermal Isolation process.  Depending on stock availability we may substitute TTE thermal shielding and give AUDI original thermal shielding instead. 

Equilibrium

Precisely balancing our turbochargers is a key critical factor to become a TTE upgrade unit as longevity and performance are paramount. Good balance improves acoustics also. Subsequent great care is taken with all TTE turbochargers to achieving our balance standards. Firstly parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and then the CHRA are dynamically balanced, but this time depending on the application at up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate equilibrium, to a standard far higher than OEM. Each turbocharger is supplied with a serial numbered balance test result document.

TTE IS38Race IHI Turbocharger   Many of our customers have been asking for a motorsport IS38 turbocharger, Well here it is! TTE IS38Race Turbocharger is based on the Original Genuine IHI IS38 turbocharger for the EA888.3 2.0TSI VAG Engine, not a cheap aftermarket clone IS38 turbo that are available from others and not disclosed. A TTE IS38Race has a TTE upgrade performance bearing pack and motorsport balanced TTE core using the IHI Bearing housing and IHI IS38 turbine and Genuine IHI IS38 compressor wheel giving a reliable performance at higher boost levels as used on Stage 1 & 2 software calibrations from all software providers.  We also include our TTE CNC silencer delete, removing the original baffle internals and fitting a new billet straight through section to improve the flow and enhance the sound. CTS Turbo is proud to offer our upgraded turbo inlet hose for the MK7+ VW and 8V Audi MQB vehicles.  The factory turbo inlet hose is corrugated with internal ridges that disrupt air flow.  Not only do they reduce air flow, but the plastic can become weak over time causing leaks and reduced performance. The CTS Turbo turbo inlet hose is constructed from 5-ply silicone that will not collapse, even under heavy load. This is MUCH stronger than other inlet hoses offered by different companies.
